Communication for Emergency Closing/Class Cancellation
All students must register with Remind.com in order to receive text messages in the event of an emergency closing of school or canceling a class. This is the only way we have to contact our students if there is ever an emergency.
How to Sign Up for Remind Text Messages:
Students must use their own phone (or the phone of someone responsible to give them this important news)
Text to: 81010
This message: @ihm929
Put in student's First and Last Name
Put in S for student when asked if you are a parent, teacher or student
If you have trouble texting to 81010, try texting the above message to 703-635-7473
If you are unable to receive texts, please be responsible to have someone in your class call you to inform you of the emergency closing or other important news sent via text.
Partnership with U of P Hospital for Health Resources and Visiting Nurses
At the beginning of this school year, Carolyn Cutilli, Ph.D., Nurse Specialist and Pam Beck, both with the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, came to speak first to our Faculty at their Orientation Day and then returned to speak to our students, encouraging their self-education and giving them resources to area clinics that will provide health services for them. This will help eliminate trips to the emergency room when they are sick or in need of care. This program will also provide visiting nurses to come weekly to the Center so the students can make appointments before or after classes to get help with any medical or dental needs, provide additional advice and assistance with paperwork. We are grateful to Carolyn and Pam for helping our students and their families keep well!
